This was a collaborative initiative between Dalberg Design, The Busara Center for Behavioural Economics, ThinkPlace Kenya and IDEO.org Nairobi. The aim was to bring together design practitioners and organisations working on social impact challenges to share what we've learned about applying Human-Centred Design (HCD) and design thinking in social impact work on the African continent. HCD is a practice we've largely adapted from Western contexts, so these conversations were incredibly important to highlight the unique challenges, drivers, and complexities of doing this work in a global south setting.

Through a series of virtual and in-person meet ups, we facilitated meaningful conversations across four key areas: Design Equity, Methods Innovation, Nurturing Talent, and Thought Leadership. It was all about creating a space for us to share our perspectives and knowledge, ultimately enriching how we approach design for social impact here in Africa. Read more.
